If you’re catching science lab vibes, you’re not far off. The beaker bong includes a flared base and resembles a science flask and test tube. People like beaker bongs for their stability, as well as their ability to hold more smoke.

Here’s what’s needed
- Isopropyl alcohol
- Coarse salt
- Pipe cleaner
- Dish Soap
- Large resealable plastic bag

Remove any moveable pieces
While some bongs are made of one solid piece, many options include moveable parts, including the bowl, joint, and downstem. Before cleaning a bong, remove these pieces and set them aside for separate cleaning.

Ditch the dirty bong water
Dirty bong water ruins the flavor of smoky hits and is also super dangerous to inhale. When bong water is rusty brown or resinous, it can produce harmful bacteria and mold, leading to lung infections or even pneumonia. Pour it out!

Fill the bong with isopropyl alcohol
Grab a large resealable bag, place the bong inside, and fill the chamber with roughly 16 ounces of isopropyl alcohol (or about halfway). Swish the solution around and let it soak for about five minutes. The moveable parts can also start soaking off to the side.

Add salt
Add a generous portion of coarse salt to the mix and swish the pipe around vigorously. The salt mixture helps scrub resin and debris off the sides of the bong for an easy clean. A pipe cleaner can also be used to scrub off stubborn residue.

Soap and rinse, repeat
After the alcohol mixture has had a chance to soak in, thoroughly rinse out the bong with hot water and dish soap. Repeat this process until sure the alcohol mixture is gone. Remember: alcohol is flammable, so definitely don’t miss this step. Once sure, place the rinsed bong on a stable surface to dry. That’s it!

What is a Bong?
Before offering bongs for sale, it’s important to have a basic understanding of what they are and the purpose they serve. Simply put, a bong (also known as a waterpipe) is a water filtration device that is primarily used to smoke marijuana. It is typically made of glass, acrylic, ceramic, or silicone.

How Does a Bong Work?
A bong takes several steps to operate properly. If you’re selling to less experienced smokers, here’s a quick guide to using one:
STEP 1 - FILL THE BONG WITH WATER
When using a bong for personal cannabis consumption, the first thing your customers will need to do is fill the chamber with water. This is necessary in order for the filtration process to work.
STEP 2 - FILL THE BOWL WITH MARIJUANA
Next they’ll want to pack the bowl of the bong with lightly-ground cannabis flower. They can use a grinder to break down bud or even cut it up with a pair of scissors. When done, gently press the flower into the bowl so that it stays put (but not so tightly that air can’t travel through).
STEP 3 - LIGHT THE BOWL WHILE INHALING THROUGH THE MOUTHPIECETo begin smoking, hold a flame to the bowl of the bong and ignite the marijuana while simultaneously placing their mouth over the opening, covering the carb with their finger, and slowly breathing in. When they release the carb, a rush of smoke will travel up the neck of the bong and into their mouth.
STEP 4 - EXHALE
Advise your customers not to hold their breath. They do not need to hold smoke in their lungs to feel the effects of cannabis. Breathe out as they normally would.
STEP 5 - CLEAN THE BONG
Always clean a bong after use, especially if they plan to share. Tar and other toxins accumulate in the chamber and can lead to a harsh smoking experience, as well as an unpleasant smell. When they clean it, they will ensure their next smoking experience will be fresh and smooth.
